What is it?
This is a finish just like wire-brushed, hand-scraped or smooth.
Laminate is a multi-layered product. It includes an underlayment that is sometimes attached but, if not, you can always buy one. Next is a core of high-density fiberboard, together with another layer, the image (wood, tile or stone) and a top wear layer. It's fused together.
Laminate is a terrific mimic of wood, and modern photography displays knots, raised grains, and swirls of the various species image. It is often cut into strips and applied to boards to give it a realistic look of a plank. Add the gloss finish, and you have an upscale look.
How do I take care of it?
Laminate, itself, is easy to care for, just requiring a sweep or mop. Gloss has a little bit more maintenance required because it can show finger or footprints because of your skin's oils. You may have to dust mop a little more often than you normally would.
Scratches and scuffs also show up more in any glossy product, so that may make it better for lower traffic areas, such as a bedroom or living room, provided it?s not used as the center of family activity.
