Embossing gives it a hand-scraped, wire-brushed, distressed or antiqued look and it?s available in matte and gloss finishes.
Howling winds create leaks
Calgary has a prairie-like climate so there are strong winds at any time of the year. We don?t usually associate winds with water damage, but a strong wind at just the right angle can damage the roof and chimney flashing.
Melting snow and ice requires your flooring to be waterproof
Even when it?s at its coldest, you need sunglasses. The sun is frequently shining and creates melted snow. That?s even more reason to have waterproof protection for your flooring.
Snow harms your home by:
?Being tracked in on the soles of your shoes.
?Being heavy on the roof which can also result in broken shingles and cracked fireplaces.
?Accumulating on walls and windows. If windows are improperly sealed, the melted snow can seep through and cause leaks.
?Collecting in drainpipes and, when melted, causing excess water to seep into roof shingles. It then goes into small leaks in the attic where it can soak insulation and create the start of mold growth.
